I've been attending the adult cardio kickboxing classes at World Karate since July 2013 and I love it there. The instructors are great, pushing you to get a great workout and helping you with your boxing form. The classes have a good variety of exercises. All classes involve punching or kicking. Sometimes you work alone on a standing bag and sometimes you are partnered up and holding a bag for your partner to punch. They throw in other exercises like pushups, abs, and jump rope to ensure that you are getting a good full body workout. If you are looking for a kickboxing workout or just looking to change up your workout with something new you should definitely check out their classes.

We are loving our experience at World Karate. The energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism exhibited by the staff at World Karate is simply wonderful.
In February, my 6 year old son B heard about karate from a classmate, so we signed up for a free month. And from the very first class, my son was hooked--we signed up for a membership just 3 classes into the trial.
The teacher, Mr. Jason, has a rare and special gift in the way he engages the children in his classes. He sets clear expectations, encouraging them to bring their best to their practice, but tempers the discipline with warm, humorous interactions.
Before starting at World Karate, my son B was getting poor marks for self-control on his daily kindergarten reports. In the past month, B has had nothing but stars and "good job" stickers. I directly credit the classes for improving B's behavior -- he is developing the positive habits of self-control and respect, and he looks forward to updating Mr. Jason on his progress.
In April, World Karate hosted B's 6th birthday party, and it was the most fun. A little karate instruction, games, obstacle courses, board-breaking, a cake sliced with a samurai sword. Every single child had an amazing time. Mr. Jason and his assistant Mr. Ty kept the action moving, and managed every detail, so that I could just relax and enjoy watching the kids and chatting with the other parents.
I give World Karate my highest recommendation.

We're new but took 6 months to decide on this location. We read the yelp reviews under the previous name "Carl Runk's." All reviews were excellent. The staff fosters a welcoming atmosphere for both student and parent. Excellent communicators. Our child asks to attend every day. Form and fun are obviously essential. Courtesies are also top notch; each student recognizes teacher with "yes, sir," all students properly welcome and introduce themselves to new students.
Facility uses Wi-Fi, tablet setup. Students login before class start.
Uniforms and supplies are all available for sale on site at reasonable cost which is very convenient.

Please allow this email to serve as a letter of recommendation for World Karate Martial Arts Schools. World Karate is a leader in the Martial Arts community. His kid friendly programs have produced Martial Arts Championships as well as Champion in life. He is innovative and always "cutting edge" with his approach to teaching and motivating. I have partnered with him and his schools on many occasions and the events have always been of the utmost integrity. I highly recommend World Karate. I have and will continue to partner with him the utmost confidence.

Throughout my training with World Karate, I've realize the style and content of the material I was learning was different then other schools and programs that I went to. World Karate's focus is very progressive and the studios were one of the first (if not the first) martial arts schools in the N. Virginia area to incorporate grappling and the cardio kickboxing into the standard curriculum.
With my martial arts career over, I was able to channel all World Katate teachings into a productive life outside of the karate studio.
I'm soundly convinced, that all of my success as a person, police officer, and athlete, is directly attributed to World Karate's influence, guidance, and friendship.
